Watermarking
Deter unwanted recording and enhance security with meeting watermarks.
How can it help me?
Protect sensitive information: Discourage unauthorized recording and distribution of your meetings.
Increase accountability: Identify individuals who may be attempting to record or share meeting content inappropriately.
Enhance security: Add an extra layer of protection for confidential discussions and presentations.
Deterrence: The visible watermark acts as a deterrent, reminding participants that the meeting is being monitored.
How do I use it?
Admin enablement: A Google Workspace administrator needs to enable meeting watermarking for the organization.
In a meeting, at the bottom right, click Host Controls. Turn on Add a watermark. If a participant doesn't meet the technical requirements, you're prompted that “People will be removed from this call.”You can select Cancel or Add the watermark anyway.
Customization: Administrators can customize the watermark with the meeting code and participant's email address.
Tips & Tricks
Transparency: Watermarks are designed to be subtle and not disrupt the meeting experience.
Visibility: The watermark is visible to all meeting participants.
Limitations: Watermarks may not prevent all unauthorized recordings, but they serve as a strong deterrent and aid in identifying any breaches.
Policy: Combine watermarking with clear communication about recording policies for maximum effectiveness.
