Contextual smart replies

Gemini in Gmail reviews incoming emails to suggest relevant, personalised responses that match the tone and style of previous messages. These contextual replies go beyond standard smart replies by understanding the specific nuances of the conversation to save time.

This feature is available to users with a Google Workspace Gemini add-on or those on specific Workspace editions that include Gemini AI features. It requires smart features and personalisation to be enabled in Gmail settings.

To use it, open an email in the Gmail app on an Android device. Tap one of the suggested replies at the bottom of the screen to preview the message, then edit or send it as needed.
