Help me write

Gmail can draft new emails from a short prompt and rewrite existing text to adjust tone, length, or clarity. It uses context from your previous emails and Drive files to personalise responses and match your writing style.

The feature is available across all Google Workspace Business and Enterprise editions, as well as Google AI plans for personal and education accounts. Personal accounts are currently restricted to the US, and tone matching requires the draft to be in English.

To start, open a new compose window or reply to a message and click the Help me write icon, which looks like a pencil with a star. Enter a prompt describing the email you want to create or select existing text to refine it.
