Side panel

Gemini in the side panel provides AI assistance within Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Chat. It helps with summarising threads, drafting content, and answering questions about your files.

Available to users on Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus editions. It is also available via Gemini add-ons for other editions.

Open a supported Workspace app like Gmail or Docs and click the Ask Gemini icon (a star-like spark) in the top right corner. This opens the side panel where you can enter prompts or select suggested actions.
