Data regions (basic, single-policy)

Data regions allow administrators to choose a specific geographic location for their organisation's data at rest. This helps meet regional compliance requirements or internal policies by storing data in the United States, Europe, or a default location.

This fundamental version is available for most Workspace editions, including Business Standard, Business Plus, and Enterprise tiers. It allows a single policy to be applied to the entire organisation rather than specific groups or units.

Open the Google Admin console and navigate to Menu, then Data, then Compliance, and select Data regions. Choose the preferred region for data at rest and save the changes to apply the policy across the whole organisation.

How to use

Check Data regions (basic, single-policy) against the relevant edition or add-on column.

Confirm whether the customer has the base Workspace SKU, an AI expansion add-on, or Gemini Enterprise.

Use the value in the matrix as the sales or enablement reference.
