Deep Research

NotebookLM can perform deep research by browsing the web to find information beyond your uploaded sources, providing a more comprehensive set of answers and citations. It synthesises information from across the internet to help you explore complex topics or verify facts in real-time.

This feature is available to all users with a work or school Google account, with usage limits determined by your Workspace edition or Gemini add-on. Users on Business Starter have a monthly limit, while higher tiers like Business Standard and Enterprise Plus enjoy daily quotas.

To use it, open a notebook in NotebookLM and enter a prompt in the chat bar. If the query requires information from the web, the tool will automatically trigger a deep research workflow to supplement your existing sources.
