Adaptive audio

Microphones and speakers from multiple laptops in the same room can be synchronised to create a unified audio system. The feature automatically detects nearby devices and merges them to prevent echo and feedback without needing dedicated conferencing hardware.

This is for teams meeting in ad-hoc spaces or rooms without built-in audio equipment. It is available for users with Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium add-ons, as well as those with the AI Meetings and Messaging add-on.

Join a meeting with two or more laptops in the same space. When Meet detects the devices, a pop-up will appear; click Merge mic and speakers to synchronise the audio. You can manage or stop merging by clicking the people icon and selecting the menu next to your name.
