Usage audit logging

NotebookLM Enterprise records user interactions, including prompts, responses, and citations, and stores them as audit logs in Google Cloud Logging. This provides a detailed trail of how the tool is being used within an organisation for security and compliance monitoring.

This feature is designed for administrators managing NotebookLM Enterprise as a standalone product or as part of Gemini Enterprise. It is available for organisations using Gemini Enterprise Standard, Plus, or Frontline editions that require enterprise-grade observability.

To enable logging, an administrator with the Gemini Enterprise Admin role must configure the observability settings at the project level using the Discovery Engine API. Once active, logs can be viewed and filtered in the Google Cloud Logs Explorer by searching for the NotebookService method.
