Vault, DLP, Data Regions cover Labs services

Google Workspace Labs services, including Flow, Whisk, and Project Mariner, operate as additional services rather than core Workspace services. This means they are not covered by standard enterprise-grade protections such as Google Vault, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), or data regions.

This distinction is important for administrators and compliance officers in organisations using Gemini Enterprise or AI Ultra Access. While these tools offer advanced AI capabilities, they do not adhere to the same data residency and retention policies as core Workspace apps.

Administrators can manage access to these Labs tools through the Google Admin console. Navigate to Apps, then Additional Google services, and locate the specific tool like Flow to enable or disable it for specific organisational units or groups.
