NotebookLM allows users to upload multiple documents, URLs, and other media to a single notebook to serve as the knowledge base for AI-powered queries. This collection of sources provides the context for the model to generate grounded responses, citations, and structured outputs like study guides.

Available to most Workspace users, with source limits varying by edition. Standard access provides 50 sources per notebook, while Business and Enterprise editions typically support 300. Higher limits of up to 600 sources are available through specific AI add-ons.

To add sources, open a notebook and click the plus icon in the Sources section on the left sidebar. You can then select files from Google Drive, upload PDFs, or paste website links and YouTube URLs.

How to use

Check Sources per notebook against the relevant edition or add-on column.

Confirm whether the customer has the base Workspace SKU, an AI expansion add-on, or Gemini Enterprise.

Use the value in the matrix as the sales or enablement reference.
